Maxwell M. Freeman

MAXWELL M. FREEMAN, the founder of our firm, has practiced law since 1962. He is well-versed in all practice areas, but has particular expertise in civil litigation, including business disputes; bank loan/guaranty matters; eminent domain/condemnation; personal injury and medical malpractice; and real estate transactions.  Many of Mr. Freeman’s published works and reported cases pertain to eminent domain/condemnation and real property issues. He has authored Continuing Education of the Bar practice guides, and his articles appear in various law reviews, including the Stanford Law Review.

For over 40 years, Mr. Freeman has provided the firm’s clients with superior legal services.  He founded the firm on the principles of integrity, excellence, skill, and the desire to provide unparalleled legal representation.  Mr. Freeman's wisdom, experience, and expertise are invaluable not only to our clients, but to the other members of our firm.

Mr. Freeman received both his undergraduate and law degree from Stanford.  He was a member of the Board of Editors of the Stanford Law Review and earned his LL.B in 1960.

Mr. Freeman is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the Tax Court of the United States; the United States District Court for both the Eastern District and Northern District of California; the United States District Court, Southern District of New York; and he is admitted pro hac vice in the State of New York.  He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the California State Bar, and the San Joaquin County Bar Association.

Mr. Freeman was born and raised in Stockton and has strong ties not only to his home town, but to the San Joaquin Valley.
